Help needed :'(

Hey all,

I need help with the remaining problem which i am trying to solve for almost 2 months already and hope anyone can help me out since i start to get clueless about what to do about it.

it's about the payment of FFXI

FFXI still doesn't accept the creditcards which i have tried to use to pay FFXI (Visa and mastercard). According the information we have received you have to verify your creditcard, but since there are doubs about if this security measure really works, the Mastercard doesn't support it.
On the other hand Visa said they support it and should be able to verify it by making a purchase on that card from a site, but it seemed to be that it didn't work.

Does anyone know how to verify the cursed credit card?

I heared some ppl are paying with their debit card but when i select the Netherlands at change payment methodes i get automaticallty directed to credit card without being able to choose the payment methode maybe anyone knows what i can do about this?

Does anyone have contact with other players from the Netherlands? (also familiar by other country's as Holland).

And so yes can you ask them if i may have their e-mail adres or if their is anyway to contact them so i can ask them the way they are doing their payment and hope that they can help me out.

one person from ffxiah i remember has the dutch flag near their name is called Kristel

Hi Conni, sorry to hear about your problems. The verified by Visa thing is casuing a lot of problems for various people. Perhaps you can look into a prepaid Visa card that might be part of the verified by Visa program? I am not sure if those are available where you live. I know of one player from the netherlands who posts on allakahzam, he posts under the name of Kojirasoma, I will try and find his char name and server for you, I don't know him but guess he may be able to help.

most debit cards, can be used in the same manner as a regular Credit card, that may be why they are switching you back over. Just plop in your DEBIT card number in the Credit card # spot, and you should be up and humming.

@ Sic bought items from 3 different sites which should verify them, but it didn't pity enough.

@ Dejibo The debitcard numbers in the Netherlands have only 9 numbers. when i putted those in i received the message it had to be 16 numbers

hey conni have you actually contacted your bank or SE regarding this? i would advise to contact your bank and make sure its verified then contact SE and hear their waste excuse and take it from there. i use to know someone from kuwait who had the prob your having, they solved it by getting a prepaid credit card. sadly he quit and i have no way to contact him....

im not sure if anyones suggested this but logging on via the xbox might fix the problem because it doesnt support the verification not like the pc. Paije was booted off the game and just redid payment info on xbox not sure if she was booted cause thats normal practice for when a trial expires or more likely it was because of the sept 2 update and i was still using her on pc before my xbox got the red ring of death.

nope its normal practice my friend got booted the second it hit midnight and his subscription expired......

SE and the bank won't help me for some reason. They just say get another creditcard and refused to help further. (tried till now 3 different creditcards).

Sic may i ask you to PM him ? I don't have an account of that site and can only verify him by buying a crystal and since i can't come into ffxi i can't verify it.

Does or doesn't this sentence mean that habiki's idea that i can play again when i login on a xbox ?

I pay via the Xbox 360 and never had any problems or notices even about needing to verify my card, so give it a go

Payment method via the xbox is much less stringent as certain checks are done via XBOX LIVE to make sure all is well. This means such things like verified by visa is not an issue on the 360 cos it doesnt check verification. Its like when your XBOX LIVE Gold subscription expires. You have to call M$ to lift a ban off it in order to turn it to silver as their systems dont automatically switch you to silver. Putting FFXI in the 360 and starting it up for some reason switches you to silver regardless however as the game requires a minimum of a silver account to play. So it does a check for gold first and doesnt get a handshake, then checks silver and forces the handshake through. The same is with the 360 and its subscription status. It doesnt do the regular stringent checks and as such only checks the essentials allowing any card to be used. The PC however is different and can make every check required.

I would reccommend taking the advice given and trying on a 360 and seeing how that goes. It should work. I'm surprised you havent tried it yet tbh mate :s unless you have no access to a 360 then thats a different matter.....
