a conundrum wrapped in a puzzle

Chakoteh is visiting my house. I gave my uber lap top to her, so she could play FFXI. She brought her own laptop, which worked fine last year. This year, I have a new wireless system in the house, and EVERYtime she switches on her wireless system, it crashes her computer. NO execptions. EVERYtime she flips it on in MY house, it crashes. We have taken it elsehwere (inc repair shop) and it runs fine. We have taken to a LAN cord straight wire once a day to download her mail and such, but it would be nice if she had wikki and so on available while playing the game.

any ideas? its truly weird! Turn OFF the wireless on her laptop, it runs fine. Turn it back on, blue screen of death, and shut down.

What kind of laptop is it, which Operating System, and is it built in wireless or a USB wireless adaptor? Let me know and i'll have a look around to see what it may be. Sounds like it might just need drivers updated.

my laptop is a Toshiba Tecra M2 S410 with XP professional and... we connected to the internet with a land line and tried to install the drivers from the disk for Dejibo's new modem but they would not install. it really is a mystery because I brought this lap top with me last year and it worked just fine O.O
now if we turn on the wireless button (built in), it goes to the blue screen of death... and it works fine everywhere else
