bad news /good news

first the bad news my 360 been playing up for some time now , been anticipating a red light of doom for some time , well it finally happened today it froze in delkfuts tower of all places (only ever happened to me in besieged and campaign before) when i turned off 360 and turned back on i got a red light in the bottom right hand corner, and a system error message after a few more restarts its let me log back in but how long till it dies is anyones guess and id imagine sooner rather than later anyway doom and gloom out the way onto the good news i saw this coming a few weeks ago (had a few 360's now know the signs its going to die) and my brand new elite should be here tmoro if they deliver on time which means prommies should still be on for saturday, if however i dont turn up my current 360 has died and the new 1 hasnt arrived

sorry to hear that mate mine died on monday and took it back to the shop with my 3 year gaurantie but they said i would have to send it away stuuf that
i took it back home and the thing fired up lol
ive had 4 normal and 2 elites so far so know where your coming from mate
also its a bad time to have to fork out for a new system with xmas close by

Aww Tric, we knew this day was coming...didnt we? I wish I had a stockpile of new systems to give out. you will have updates and so on when it comes yes? or can you switch the HD? I just got a new computer, and new PS3 so I had to go thru all the updates.

i think i should be able to swap the hd over for the weekend then install to the new hd afterward

if its your first time from normal to elite system 20gig to 120gig
then contact microsoft as soon as you can and get a FREE transfer lead that lets you transfer all from your 20gig onto the 120gig and your sorted and away ya go
the lead is a one time use only lead
so no need to reinstall stuff

well my elite just turned up , i swapped HD over and it says i got to download again , ffxi seems to store some files that dont go to the actual HD at least thats my guess coz of what delete cache did to my old 360. anyway i just started the install process see you next year

left my 360 on last night to install the updates got up this morning to find out they failed got them trying to install again now but i have to go out, my mums been on the phone and needs me to go and move all the new soil shes had delivered. i swapped my old hard drive to the new system but when i try load ffxi it says i have to install it (guess that proves my theory that my other 360 wouldnt play ffxi cause ffxi stores some files on the actual system rather than the HD). ill be back home later in time for prommies but idk if updates will have finished so if i dont turn up im sorry guys , if i dont make it im happy to take everyone tmoro if that time suits ? hope to see you all later

ive just got home from digging the garden, forget i had to actually hit the update button after i had installed pol etc , its currently saying 7hrs till its done , as for waiting and using my old xbox well doh i didnt think of that and now i have updates coming on to my new 360, so im gonna take a rain check, sorry guys. if it doesnt happen im more than happy to lead an expedition tmoro round the same time if that suits the ppl that need it. sorry again and ill catch you later tonight or tmro when updates are done with .
